Abu Dhabi-based steelmaker, Al Ghurair Iron and Steel (AGIS) has signed an agreement with Etihad Rail, the developer of UAE’s national rail network to transport its steel outputs across the country and facilitate an increase of exports.
The deal allows transportation of the steelmaker’s products from its manufacturing plant in Abu-Dhabi to Khalifa port and Dubai’s Jabel Ali, stated local media reports on Thursday.
Rail network will lead to more cost and time saving for AGIS compared to road-based transport. The network will also enhance operational efficiency and pave the way for market expansion opportunities.
