Altos Hornos de México’s (Ahmsa) earnings increased 65.18pc in Q2 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, to MXN11.5bn ($578mn) from $6.9bn, the company informed today in its financial report.
In its interim financial report, Ahmsa reported EBITDA for Q2 at MXN2.4bn, compared to the MXN1.05bn loss between April and June last year, and the consolidated net profit for this quarter was MXN766mn.
This was the first positive earnings reported by the company since May 2019, when Mexico’s Financial Intelligence Unit froze its accounts, as part of an investigation against some of its executives, the report noted.
