Canada’s American Iron & Metal (AIM) with facilities in Canada, Europe, and the US for both export and domestic sourcing of ferrous and non-ferrous recycled materials has agreed to buy the assets of North American recycler Liberty Iron & Metal.
The value of the transaction is undisclosed for the business founded in 1932. Liberty Iron & Metal has two locations in Arizona, one in Erie, Pennsylvania, and one in Chihuahua, Mexico. The company operates three shredders that were installed in 2009.
The acquisition gives AIM a footprint in Mexico and expansion into the Southwestern region.
