Bulgarian aluminum producer Alcomet intends to spend €1.7mn ($1.9mn) along with a €650,000 grant for the development of green anodizing technology.
The project, named Alugreen, aims to reduce the company’s carbon footprint as well as water consumption. In doing so, Alcomet says it will increase its market competitiveness as well as strengthen its position.
Anodizing is the process of coating a metal with its own oxide to form a protective layer. The grant was given by the Norway Grants 2014-2021 board under the Business Development, Innovation, and SMEs, Bulgaria scheme.
