Australia miner Alta Zinc resumed drilling operations at Pian Bracca, which is a part of the Gorno Zinc Project in northern Italy. The Gorno mine was temporarily shut down in March amid COVID-19-related restrictions in Italy. The mineral exploration and development company has reported that its international drilling company, Edilmac SRL has restarted underground drilling at Pian Bracca Zone.
Pian Bracca has lead, zinc and silver deposits. The region contains zinc deposits of 163,000mt and 43,000mt of lead. The company said that drilling at the site has produced highly encouraging results and the area remains open in all directions.
The region contains high priority mineralization, as confirmed by Alta Zinc’s team. The company secured $3.6mn to fund the Gorno Zinc Project exploration, according to the company’s press release.
