Ambler Metals will move forward with its 2021 plan to develop its Upper Kobuk mines in Northwestern Alaska in partnership with South 32. 


Provisions of about $27mn have been set aside for the project, pending approval on Dec 3. Ambler will focus on adding 7,600 meters of drilling at its Arctic deposit may be among the highest-grade copper deposits known globally. Mine activity will also extract other metallurgical material and measure mineral resources. The metallurgical aspect of the drilling will back variability testing and pilot plant efforts, set to begin in 2021.


Ambler will also continue its 2019 exploration activities near its VMS belt to locate additional deposits that may supply to an upcoming Arctic mill. Additionally, the company is planning a 7,000-meter regional drilling probe at is Sunshine project. Drilling is scheduled to begin next year in mid-July and finish by late-September.
