Austria-based, ANDRITZ will supply a rail wheel production line to Allegro, a subsidiary of EVRAZ and Rail Service Industrial Group in Russia.
Allegro plans to produce train wheels in the Titan Valley special economic zone in the Sverdlovsk oblast of Russia, the company said in a recent media statement. The project entails an investment of €180mn ($211.47mn).
With the new production line supplied by ANDRITZ, the plant would have an annual production capacity of 200,000 solid-rolled wheels which would eventually increase to 300,000 wheels.
The production is scheduled to begin in Q4 of the fiscal 2022 and is likely to create 425 job opportunities.
