APL Apollo Tubes’s sales volume rose by 52pc in December quarter (Oct-Dec) of fiscal year 2020 to 4,80,225mt compared to prior year. The company’s sales volume increased led by strong demand across product categories.
APL’s home improvement product segment Apollo Tricoat lifted the overall sales growth in the quarter. Apollo Tricoat’s sales volume up by 71pc to 47,148mt in the December quarter FY20 compare to previous quarter. Newly commissioned facilities of Apollo Tricoat at Dadri, UP and at Malur, Karnataka are expected to give strong sales volume in the upcoming quarter.
For the first nine-months (Apr-Dec), Apollo’s total sales volume surged by 34pc to 1,232,730mt as against prior year. Sales volume grew despite weak demand in the domestic market led by slowdown in construction activity and flooding in key markets, said the company.
APL’s net profit after tax increased to Rs74 crore in December quarter, up by 475pc compared to Rs13 crore in the prior year. APL operates 10 manufacturing facilities with a total capacity of 2.55mn mt. It has a pan India presence with units strategically located in Sikandarabad, Dujana, Bangalore, Hosur, Raipur, Hyderabad and Murbad.
