Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Nevada-based lead recycler Aqua Metals has signed an agreement with global chemical company BASF to strengthen the former’s lead recycling process and technology.

The recycler said in a statement on Monday that under the partnership, BASF would supply electrolyte for its AquaRefining technology. Moreover, BASF will partner with Aqua commercially and explore ways to technically enhance the lead recycling process used by Aqua Metals.

AquaRefining is a room temperature, water-based lead recycling process that emits less pollution, according to the Aqua Metals website. Additionally, the process also scales lead-acid battery recycling production capacities.
