Steelmaker ArcelorMittal is set to restart blast furnace 4 (BF4) at its Indiana Harbor steel mill in North America after idling it in March amid COVID-19 pandemic, according to media reports.
The company is also carrying out repair and maintenance of blast furnace D at Burns Harbor following an explosion at the unit on July 16. The blast furnace D has an annual production capacity of 2.48mn mt.
Indiana Harbor is the largest integrated steelmaking facility in North America with annual production capacity of 6.4mn st.
