Pittsburg-based aluminum producer Arconic reported a decline in sales across all end markets except the automotive sector during the third quarter.
The company expects an EBITDA between $610-630mn for the full year due to improving sales and revenue compared to Q2 2020 and assuming a steady LME Aluminum price of $1,660/mt till the end of the year.
During the third quarter, Arconic’s net sales fell to $1.4bn, compared with $1.8bn in the same quarter last year. During the same period, sales in the rolled products and building systems segment amounted to $1mn and $241mn, respectively, down from $1.3bn and $282mn in Q3 2019. Arconic’s aluminum extrusion sales also declined to $82mn during Q3 2020 from $126mn in the same quarter last year.
In Q3 2020, Arconic posted a net income of $5mn, compared with a net loss of $24mn in Q3 2019. It attributed the improved performance to the recovery of North American automotive production, along with better cash management.
