Luxembourg-based packaging group, Ardagh plans to invest $195mn in expanding its aluminum cans manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The state’s governor Roy Cooper said in a media statement on Friday that the expansion would also add 94 jobs in Forsyth County where the plant is located.
Ardagh has been producing aluminum cans in Winston-Salem for over 45 years. This plant has six production lines and is the company’s largest can manufacturing plant in the US. Claude Marbach, chief executive officer of Ardagh Metal Beverage–North America said that the planned investment in Winston-Salem is part of Ardagh’s $2.1bn outlay towards business growth in the next four years.
