Argentine Ministry of Production and Development announced anti-dumping duty on aluminium tubes originating from China and Brazil. Argentina imposed 75.52pc anti-dumping duties on Chinese products and 16.46pc on Brazilian products involved. The duty will stay for five years from the date of issuance.
The products involved are unformed unalloyed or alloyed aluminium tubes, including coiled aluminium tubes of the 3xxx series and 6xxx series with an outer tube diameter less than or equal to 130 mm, excluding 3xxx series precision Drawn aluminium tube. This type of precision drawn tube (Precision Drawn Tubing) that has been annealed and heat-treated.
According to the report published by China non-ferrous Metal Industry association, Ministry of Production and Labour of Argentina initiated an anti-dumping investigation on aluminium tubes originating in China and Brazil in May last year.
On November 11, last year, Argentina made a preliminary ruling on anti-dumping of aluminium tubes from China and Brazil. In 2017, 2018, and 2019, China exported 407mt, 352mt and 198mt of aluminium tubes to Argentina, according to customs data.
