Argentina’s crude steel production climbed by 47.9pc to 423,400mt in March, from 286,200mt produced in the same month the prior year, on higher demand from construction and automotive industries according to the Argentinian Chamber of Steel (Acero).

 

Hot-rolled coil output rose by 49.6pc to 394,700mt in March, from 263,800mt produced in March 2020, and cold-rolled coil production climbed by 127.2pc to 128,800mt in March, from 56,700mt produced the same month in the previous year.

 

Iron ore output increased by 1.2pc to 237,100mt in March, from 234,200mt produced in the same month last year.

 

Argentina car production increased by 125.2pc to 43,160 cars in March from 19,164 units produced in the same month the prior year, and exports climbed by 60.8pc to 22,394 cars in March, from 13,928 cars shipped in the same month the prior year, according to figures from the Argentine Association of Automotive Makers (Adefa).
