Argentina’s total car production for the first eight months of 2021 was 263,877 units, according to the Argentine Association of Automotive Factories (Adefa). The number includes passenger and utility vehicles and represents a 97.5pc increase compared to the 133,590 units produced in the same period of 2020.
Exports for the period January-August 2021 increased 104.1pc, reaching 155,991 vehicles and more than doubling the 76,440 units produced in the same year-ago period. Sales increased by 28.1pc from 173,979 vehicles to 222,864 during the same timeframe.
Adefa reported total August production of 38,362 vehicles, a 48.5pc increase compared to the same month of the previous year.
Argentinian auto exports rose 83.3pc to 24,937 units, sales slipped 8pc to 26,069 units against August 2020.
Production increased 20.1pc compared to July 2021, while exports rose 7.6pc and sales increased 7pc according to the industry association.
