Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland Ltd, on Tuesday, announced that its UK subsidiary, Switch Mobility Ltd has completed acquisition of its Indian subsidiary Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd (SMAL).
Switch Mobility is a UK-based manufacturer of electric buses and vans.
SMAL was incorporated for manufacture and sale of electric vehicles and now becomes a step-down subsidiary of the company, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing.
German company Siemens Ltd and Switch Mobility Automotive had recently signed an MoU to enter electric commercial vehicles segment.
Ashok Leyland, owned by Hinduja Group, manufactures trucks, buses, light vehicles and defence vehicles in India.
