Cyprus-based Atalaya Mining Plc’s total copper concentrate production in 2020 stood at 256,001mt, up by 31.2pc as compared to 195,072mt produced in 2019, the company announced in its yearly results on March 25, 2021.
In 2020, the company’s total copper output grew by 24.3pc to 55,890mt from 44,950mt produced in the preceding year, meeting its 2020 annual production guidance.
The company said that its copper output rose despite facing challenges risen due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company’s expanded processing plant was completed and commissioned in early 2020, demonstrating record production levels during the year.
In 2020, the company mined 13.6mn mt of ore, registering a growth of 30.7pc as compared to 10.4mn mt of ore mined in the previous year.
The company processed 14.8mn mt of ore in 2020 with an average copper head grade of 0.45pc and within the guidance recovery rate of 84.53pc.
The company expects to produce 52,000mt-54,000mt of copper in 2021.
