Australia’s Anti-dumping Commission has initiated an antidumping (AD) and countervailable duty (CVD) investigation into aluminum-zinc coated steel from Vietnam, China, Korea, and Taiwan according to a recent notice.
The probe began on an application by domestic manufacturer BlueScope Steel to review the imports of coated steel of both less than and greater than 600mm width from these countries.
The following HS codes are currently under import scrutiny: 7210.61.00, 7225.99.00, 7212.50.00, 7226.99.00 for material imported from April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020.
Dale Seymour, the Commissioner of the Anti-Dumping Commission who initiated the review said that he will examine the goods traded during the period to determine whether dumping and subsidization had occurred. He added that he would examine the Australian market from April 1, 2016, for the purpose of injury analysis.
