Ball Corporation has acquired Tubex Industria E Comercio de Embalagens, an aluminum aerosol packaging business with a plant near Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The facility sold for $80mn, plus a potential earn-out, Ball said in a statement.
The plant includes eight extruded aluminum aerosol can lines, which produce personal care packaging for both global and domestic customers in Brazil.
The facility, which employs around 300 people, will join Ball’s aluminum aerosol packaging division and complement its aluminum aerosol and slug businesses in Europe, North America and Asia, the company said.
In 2020, the company is focused on improving its operational excellence and customer service, amplifying the sustainability benefits of aluminum packaging, and executing beverage and aerospace investment projects, according data from its 2019 financial report.
Ball supplies sustainable aluminum packaging solutions for beverage, personal care and household products, as well as aerospace and other technologies and services, primarily for the U.S. government.
In 2019, the company reported sales of $11.5bn and a net earning of 536mn.
