Aluminum packaging manufacturer Ball Corporation plans to construct a new aluminum can factory in Pilsen, Czech Republic in the first half of 2021.
The new plant will be built at an investment of €170mn ($206.7mn) and cover an area of 100,000 sq. meters. In the first phase of its construction, the facility is expected to employ 150 workers and scale up to 200 personnel once operations commence in October 2022. The manufacturer did not disclose the planned output for the factory.
The plant is slated to have two production lines and will help increase Ball’s aluminum can production in Europe to meet the growing demand for sustainable beverage packaging. The company also intends to power the plant using 100pc renewable energy.
