US aluminum packaging producer Ball Corporation has transitioned its recyclable Aluminum Cup to retail across 18,000 locations across the country.
The Ball Aluminum Cup will be produced at the company’s new facility in Rome, Georgia which was set up next to its beverage can plant in the area in 2020. The plant is currently operating one production line with an output capacity of 450 million units per year.
A company spokesperson told Davis Index that Ball is capable of and intends to increase output and sizes available at the plant soon. Still, it has reserved the sales volume forecast.
The product has already been available across stadiums in the US since early 2020. Dan Fisher, president of Ball Corp, said that the company is excited to re-enter the B2C market with its first retail product in years. With the Aluminum Cup, the firm’s goal is to promote an infinite recycling circular economy enabled by aluminum, replacing plastics and curbing the waste crisis associated with the latter.
