Baosteel Desheng, one of the three major production bases of Baosteel Stainless Steel, has increased daily output of low-nickel hot metal by 4,480.2mt.
The exceeded daily output of low-nickel hot metal in the blast furnace is a new record set by the company this year at its No.1 blast furnace, according to a company release on August 18. On the other hand, the company’s No.3 blast furnace also exceeded the daily average in August by 1,465mt.
No. 1 and No. 2 blast furnaces are constantly breaching the 1,500mt per day mark. Baosteel Desheng’s average furnace output was 99.46mt, and the daily output of billets reached 6,564.47mt. The daily output of steel billets reached a new high of over 6,000mt for a week. The production increase is in line with the improvements in various technical and economic indicators.
Stainless steel demand in China is improving at a fast pace, and manufacturers are keeping production in sync with the market demand. China is the largest producer of stainless steel products. The economic recovery post the pandemic is boosting production and demand for all metals in the domestic market.
