Canadian mining company Barrick Gold produced 6pc more copper at 457mn lb (207,291mt) in FY2020, compared to 432mn lb during the same prior-year period. The output is in line with its guidance range of 440-500mn lb.
Barrick’s Q42020 copper output was 16pc higher at 119mn lb compared to 103mn lb in the previous quarter, according to its financial results released on Friday.
The company also announced its Q12021 preliminary results on Friday, along with its full-year 2021 guidance, and indicated it produced 22pc less copper in Q12021 at 93mn lb compared to Q4 2020. Barrick Gold is set to release its Q12021 results on May 5.
