China-based stainless steel manufacturer, Beibu Gulf New Materials reported that their stainless-steel billets and cold-rolled finished product’s output in Jan-Nov period has exceeded the total output recorded in 2019.
Total output of stainless steel billets was reported at 2.88mn mt which is projected to increase to 3.1mn mt by then end of the year. Total cold-rolled finished products were reported at 910,400mt, up by 19pc compared to 2019’s total output. Production of finished cold-rolled stainless is expected to increase to 1mn mt by year end.
The company reported that the cold-rolling output and sales have both exceeded 100,000mt in November which was termed as a historic breakthrough.
China’s consumption of stainless steel products is set to rise in 2020, according to industry experts on the back of improving infrastructure development and government spending.
