Benxi Iron and Steel Group completes and puts to production key ultra-low emission transformation project for its plate plant. The company successfully transformed its coal-fired thermal power generation operations and other auxiliary facilities.
Benxi Steel Plate plant’s first boiler in the power operation area of ignited, recently, after the plant’s ultra-low emission transformation was completed and put into operation two days before schedule. The second boiler was ignited on Oct 10 and put into production. Air pollutant emissions of the boilers meet national standards marking the conclusion of the project.
The project improves three important indicators of environmental protection; particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides and promotes green development of the steel industry. It also manages to eliminate the original design flaws of the equipment and overcome some restrictions on production and reduces labour intensity.
