SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant’s crude steel production in October increased by 17pc to a record 219,332mt from 187,053mt in the prior month, according to data provided by the company.
The unit’s BF 8’s hot metal production in October stood at 224,403mt, up by 2pc from 224,403mt in March, while the plant’s sinter output increased slightly to 464,467mt from 464,333mt in January.
The plant Iron Ore Complex (IOC), Material Recovery, Marketing, Finance, Transport, and Diesel departments along with both steel melting shops pitched in to maximize sales of scrap, by-product, pig iron, and ore fines. The unit also maximized its internal consumption of scrap in October.
The Hot Strip Mill at SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant also produced a monthly record output of 334,000mt of HRC in October after the mill’s upgrade.
