Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Danish company Bladt Industries will use 32,000mt of steel in the construction of 64 transition pieces (TP) for the Calvados offshore wind farm. Manufacturing will begin next August in Germany, and the first delivery is slated for late 2022, noted the company on Wednesday.

The Italian company Saipem, a specialist in the energy and infrastructure sector, awarded the contract to Bladt Industries to make the parts that will measure around 24 meters and weigh around 500mt.

Bladt’s Calvados wind farm, in Courseulles-sur-Mer, France, will comprise 64 turbines located 16km from the French coast, with the capacity to generate 450MW, enough to supply electricity to 630,000 people.
