Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) exported 925,000mt of steel across 13 European Union (EU) countries in 2020, with the company’s exports to the region making up 45pc of its total exports.
Spain, Slovenia and France saw the largest growth in shipments from BMZ, with exports to these countries rising by 50pc in 2020 from 2019. Meanwhile, exports to Austria, Ireland, Poland and Finland grew by 30pc in the past year.
BMZ exported wire rod, steel wire, structural steel worth $34.5mn to the EU with exports of structural steel rising more than 150pc in 2020. In the past year, BMZ’s consolidated steel exports tallied to nearly 2mn mt, across more than 53 countries.
