Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners has placed an order for 24 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, with an option to purchase 60 additional units.
Ihssane Mounir, senior vice president of commercial sales and marketing, Boeing, stated in a media release that this was a significant order for the company and reflects 777 Partners’ trust in the manufacturer while indicating market recovery.
The investment firm will go on to lease the single-aisle aircraft to its affiliated ultra-low-cost airlines.
This is the first large commercial order for Boeing since January. In 2020, the company’s deliveries fell by 60pc to 157 units from 380 units in the prior year.
