Auto component manufacturer, Bosch has halted production at its plant in Nashik in the state of Maharashtra till May 23 amid worsening COVID-19 situation in the country.
The Nashik plant manufactures common rail systems with key portfolio of injectors and nozzles for passenger cars, heavy and commercial vehicles, and tractor segment. Positive cases in Nasik are rising rapidly, prompting the company to shut shop to abide by the guidelines issued by local government.
The shutting of plants will slightly impact the supplies to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the automotive after-market sector that are already in deep water amid lockdown and facing supply chain volatility.
The effect of production halt on the company’s business is difficult to assess at the moment, Bosch noted.
