Brazil aluminium imports in August increased by 23.59pc (2,084mt) to 10,918mt from 8,834mt in the prior year.
In the first eight months of this year, (Jan-Aug), Brazil aluminium imports increased by 12pc (10,950mt) to 102,354mt from 91,404mt in the prior-year period.
Brazil aluminium scrap import from Guatemala in August increased by 154pc to 2,003mt from 789mt in the prior-year period and by 17pc from 1,705mt in the prior month.
Aluminium scrap import from Mexico declined by 64pc to 1,329mt from 3,644mt in August 2020 and by 31pc from 1,931mt in July.
Brazil imported 1,158mt of aluminium scrap from Chile, a surge of 126pc from 513mt in the previous year and of 807pc from 128mt in July.
