Brazil’s crude steel production increased by 3.5pc to 2.59mn mt in July from 2.50mn mt in the same month last year.
However, the country’s rolled steel output declined by 13.9pc to 1.6mn mt in July from the same period last year and flat steel production decreased by 29.3pc 822,000mt in the months under comparison, according to the latest data from the Brazilian Steel Institute (Aço Brasil).

The South American country exports fell by 12.4pc to 875,000mt in July from 1mn mt the same month the prior year, and steel imports also decreased by 27.7pc to 146,000mt in July this year from 201,000mt in the same month the prior year, Aço Brasil said.
