The Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) exported 43,506mt of steel plates to China, marking a new record for the company.

 

This volume represents about 2005 units, which were loaded in 33-hour period at the port of Pecem, according to a public statement made by the port. 

 

The shipment will arrive at Zhangjiagang Huada port in China on August 25. The name of the recipient was not disclosed in the port’s statement. 

 

In June this year, exports of steel plates from Pecem rose 25pc to 218,837mt, as compared to 174,223mt shipped in May. CSP exports to more than 10 countries and is located at Pecem.

 

Brazil’s crude steel production decreased by 27.1pc to 2.1mn mt in June this year, from 2.8mn mt in the same month of the prior year, according to data released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
