Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports appear to be losing momentum and decreased 41pc in June 2021 at 45,642mt compared to 76,741mt during the same month of 2020, according to data from the country’s Customs.

 

Meanwhile, monthly exports continued their upward trend for the third consecutive month with a 38pc increase this June, compared to 33,061mt in May 2021.

 

India was the leading importer of Brazilian ferrous scrap, with 24,215mt, followed by Bangladesh, at 10,788mt, and Pakistan, with 6,496mt.

 

The country’s ferrous scrap exports fell 54pc to 180,692mt in the first half of 2021, compared to 392,911mt during the same period last year.
