Brazil’s flat steel distributors’ sales rose by 17pc to 371,700mt in October from 317,700mt in the same prior-year period, Brazil’s National Institute of Steel Distributors (Inda) indicated.
Total flat steel product purchases also climbed by 15.9pc to 346,500mt last month, from 299,000mt in October 2019, Inda said n a statement on Nov 25, adding that November flat steel purchases and sales may drop by 5pc.
Flat steel inventory decreased by 3.6pc to 678,300mt in October from the previous month to 703,500mt. Imports of the product also declined by 46.8pc to 66,900mt in October, from 125,800mt in the same month last year, Inda noted.
Brazil’s crude steel output rose by 3.5pc to 2.7mn mt in October from 2.6mn mt produced in the same month in 2019, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
