Brazil’s flat steel distributors’ sales rose by 22.7pc to 325,400mt in March, from 265,300mt in the same month of 2020, Brazil’s National Institute of Steel Distributors (Inda) indicated in a statement on Apr 21.
Total flat steel product purchases also climbed by 24.8pc to 340,100mt in March, from 272,500mt in the same month of the prior year, Inda noted adding that sales may drop by 5pc in April.
Flat steel inventory rose by 2.1pc to 711,200mt in March from the previous month’s 696,500mt. Flat steel imports soared by 139.8pc to 140,400mt last month, from 58,500mt in March 2020.
