Brazilian semi-finished steel product exports increased in March by 122.7pc to 159,770mt from 71,738mt during the same month last year.

 

Shipments of flat-rolled products of iron or steel fell slightly by 0.82pc to 1.39mn mt in March from a year earlier, according to the latest figures from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic).

 

Exports of copper ores and concentrates fell by 41.5pc 86,978mt, and shipments of copper in bars, profiles, wires, plates, sheets, and strips declined by 33.4pc to 32,179mt, Mdic said.

 

Shipments of semi-manufactured products of iron or steel rose by 55.5pc to 429, 669mt, while exports of crude cast iron and spiegel iron (ex pig iron) also rose by 60.5pc to 103,368mt. However, crude aluminum exports decreased by 109.7pc to 35,006mt.

 

Q1 

Between January and March, flat-rolled product exports declined by 29.4pc to 306,455mt, while shipments of semi-manufactured products of iron and steel reached 980,173mt, decreasing by 7pc compared to the same period last year, Mdic added.
