Byelorussian Steel Works (BSW) has announced that it has started supplying stainless steel pipes with chromium content to its customer based out of Russia.

The Belarus-based firm is working on the first scaled-up production agreement to ship out close to 1000t (907mt) of pipes by the end of this month.

BSW is an active supplier to the oil and gas industry, where demand for such pipes with high chromium contents has grown. The firm has been working on mastering the production of such pipes since the end of last year and had shipped out a pilot batch in December 2020. The company subsequently shipped out an industrial-grade pilot batch in February this year, which the customer approved, BSW noted on Thursday.

Apart from these stainless steel pipes, BSW also produces carbon steel pipes and has exported more than 32,000t of pipes in Q1 2021 to its main consumers in the EU and Russian Federation.
