Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Canadian miner C3 Metals has received the authorization from the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines to start drilling its Jasperoide copper-gold project in the southern Peru. The company intends to begin drilling soon.

According to a release by C3, the Jasperoide project, located in the Andahuaylas-Yauri copper belt of Peru, comprises of copper-gold mineralization similar to larger mines in the region MMG’s Las Bambas mine, Hudbay’s Constancia mine and the Antapaccay mine operated by Glencore. The first drilling program will focus on high-grade deposit targets at Montaña de Cobre, Cresta Verde, and Callejón de Oro.

Peru’s copper production rose by 1.4pc to 207,034mt in October from 204,139mt produced in the same month last year, while shipments of copper fell by 14.5pc in the same comparison, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (Inei).
