Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Canada’s Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI) rose by 14.3pc in April this year annually while it grew by 1.6pc from March 2021, according to Statistics Canada (StatCan). 

 

The country’s raw Material Price Index (RMPI) grew by 56.4pc in April this year from April 2020 while it increased by 1pc on a monthly basis. 

 

IPPI of primary ferrous metal products saw a 15.7pc rise in April 2021 from the previous year while it grew by 2.9pc from March this year. IPPI for primary non-ferrous metal products saw a 30pc rise in April 2021 annually while it inched up by 0.6pc from March this year, StatCan reported. 

 

Canada’s IPPI for fabricated metal products saw a 12pc increase in April from the same month last year and was up by 3pc from March this year. IPPI for motorized and recreational vehicles saw a 2.9pc drop in April from April 2020 while it increased by 0.2pc from march this year. 

 

The RMPI for non-metallic products saw a 5.8pc rise in April this year on an annual basis while it grew by 1.1pc from March this year, StatCan reported. RMPI for metal ores, concentrates and scrap increased by 22.4pc in April 2021 from April last year and rose by 0.8pc from March 2021.
