Canyon Resources signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Camrail, the Cameroon rail infrastructure operator, for the transport of 5mn mt of bauxite annually from Canyon’s Minim Martap Project.
The canyon was with Camrail and its parent company, Bolloré Africa Logistics, for the transport of bauxite.
As part of the MOU, Camrail has agreed to assist Canyon in its dealings with strategic Government representatives, key stakeholders, and provide input into policy development, compliance and regulatory requirements, and funding options.
Canyon Resources is focused on the development of its Minim-Martap Bauxite Project, a direct shipping ore (DSO) project in central Cameroon.
This rail line is currently under-utilised and will help transport bauxite via the seaborne route to support the aluminium industry as described in the 2020 Pre-Feasibility Study of Canyon Resources.
