China Aluminium will transfer capacity from Shanxi Huasheng aluminium plant and Shandong Huayu, to Yunnan, Inner Mangolia and Guangxi in 2020.
The company is also developing its Huasheng plant in Guangxi as an intelligent factory. At the end of Dec 2019, the company’s alumina production reached 87.15mn mt, an increase of 3.80mn mt from the prior-year period.
Chinalco’s annual income rose by 5.46pc to CNY19,074mn in 2019 from the previous year and the net profit by 2.38pc to CNY851mn. Cost competitiveness of alumina and electrolytic aluminium increased with the rate of electrolytic aluminium rising by 29.5pc from previous year.
