Champion Iron has announced Alexandre Belleau as its new chief operating officer.
Belleau has served as the company’s general manager of projects and innovation since 2016. He helped with coordinating the expansion of its Bloom Lake mine, which has an iron ore capacity of 7.4mn mt per year. The statement added that the team sees major growth in its global position as an iron ore producer under Belleau’s leadership.
Champion is currently developing eight ferrous mines across a 272 square-mile area in the Gulf of St Lawrence in Canada.
