Chile terminates anti-dumping (AD) probe on steel rods originating from China used for manufacturing grinding balls of diameter less than 4 inches.
The Chilean Anti-Price Distortion Investigation Commission (CNDP) decided to terminate the investigations followed by withdrawal of complaint from the applicant. The Chilean HS code for the products is 7228.3000. The petitioner for the AD probe was CAP Acero.
CNDP’s ruling came after CAP Acero failed to provide evidence of dumping by Chinese exporters. The commission had initiated the probe in September 2020, as reported by Davis Index. CAP Acero had requests for an AD duty of at least 11.9pc. The period of investigation proposed was July-December 2019.
