Shagang Group-owned Northeast Special Steel company’s iron output increased by 100,000mt and steel output rose 28,000mt in Q1 2020 (January-March) from a year ago, according to the China Special Steel Enterprises Association. The company’s exports also rose by 47,000mt from the previous year.
Production of key products (stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, structural steel) rose by 16,600mt in the first quarter from the prior-year quarter. The company’s annual output of iron was around 1.19mn mt and billets produced were 2.17mn mt.
Northeast Special Steel one of the subsidiaries of Shagang Group and it is based in Dalian city in Northeast China.
