China’s Iron and Steel manufacturers produced 20.52mn mt of crude steel, 18.48mn mt of pig iron and 19.13mn mt of steel in early May, according to China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
Inventory with the steelmakers was in the period was 14.66mn mt, a fall of 0.45pc from late April but up by 53.81pc from beginning of the year.
