China produced 5.91mn mt of alumina in July 2020, according to the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) data. This was a decrease of 4.04pc from 6.16mn mt in July 2019. China’s alumina production rose by 3.33pc from 5.72mn mt in June 2020.

The global alumina production fell by 0.5pc to 11.36mn mt in July from 11.42mn mt in the prior-year period. The global alumina production, however, rose by 3pc to 11.36mn mt from 11.02mn mt in June 2020.
Total global alumina production reported being 77.46mn mt in Jan-July 2020, up by 0.59pc from 77.01mn mt in Jan-July 2019.
The alumina production in West Europe, China, North America, South America in July 2020 dropped from the prior-year period. The alumina production in East and Central Europe, Africa, and Asia (Excluding China) and Oceania regions in July 2020 reported a rise in the production from the prior-year period.
