China’s aluminium exports declined in November from the prior year. The world’s top producer of aluminium exported 424,025mt of unwrought aluminium, including primary metal, alloys, and semi-finished products in Nov 2020, down by 6.18pc from 452,000mt in Nov 2019, according to the data by China customs.
In the Jan-Nov period, China exported 4.40mn mt of unwrought aluminium, down by 16.1pc from 5.24mn mt in the prior-year period.
China’s exports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium products were at 418,893.7mt in October, 2pc less from the year prior.
China briefly became an aluminium net importer in July and August this year after over a decade, only to become a net exporter from September.

China’s unwrought copper imports rose by 6.89pc to 516,310.7mt in Nov 2020, from 483,000mt in the prior-year period. Imports of copper ore and concentrates dropped by 15.11pc in Nov to 1.83mn mt, from 2.15mn mt in the prior-year period. The rise in unwrought copper imports highlighted the speed of recovery in China after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chinese imports of unwrought copper rose by 38.7pc to 6.17mn mt in the elevens from 4.45mn mt in the prior-year period. Copper ore and concentrates imports declined marginally by 0.9pc to 19.88mn mt in Jan-Nov 2020, from the prior-year period.
