As per the China Iron and Steel Association (Cisa), China’s key iron and steel manufacturers produced 18,366mn mt of crude steel, 17,077mn mt of pig iron and 17,548mn mt of steel, all in mid-March 2020.
The crude steel output is 3.45% lower than the same period last year. Steel output is also .57% lower than mid-March 2019.
During this period, steel stock of key iron and steel producers was at 19,824mn mt, an increase over the February figure of 10,291mn mt. In the first 10 days of March steel stocks were at 15,847mn mt.
