China’s sales of heavy trucks rose to a record high of 179,000 units, up by 65.6pc from the previous year. The cumulative sales of heavy trucks from January to May rose by 17pc to 644,600 from a year ago, according to China Metallurgical News.

 

Demand was supported by the government’s push for infrastructure activities through new investments and elimination of vehicles below China III emission standard. The boom in heavy truck sales is expected to continue.

 

In May, bulldozer sales also increased by 32.26pc to 574 units from the previous year. Sales of bulldozers dropped by 6.18pc to 2,686 units in the first five months of the year compared the prior year period. Export of bulldozer declined by 21.99pc to 110 units. In the first five months of 2020, exports of bulldozers dropped by 19.19pc to 657 units from the previous year.
